Mesh for the cricket feeder?

Well, mine failed.. The sides felt really smooth but the dubias and crickets were climbing out :confused:

You need to go back and set up a meeting w/ your engineering department. You should fire whoever is responsible for the design flaws. :rolleyes:

Must not have been smooth enough. Try, try again.

You actually don't need anything for them to climb.
Just get a small piece of coarse sandpaper, and sand a strip.
They can climb the rough surface.

^^ this sounds so much simpler

I personally just use large ceramic bowls (I have sturdy cages)
but if I needed something light, I'd use a green sprite type bottle and rough the back with sandpaper.

I use quart size plastic milk containers.
They are very smooth on the inside.
I tried plastic mesh, but the cricks ate holes in it!! :eek:

Now, I use aluminum, just a thin strip hot glued.
Put a few holes in the bottom, and attach to cage with magnets:

Like this;

Instead of using two magnets, I use a metal washer glued to the feeder and use the magnet on the outside of the cage.
