No, I didn't own him. We were both debating today on who was going to take him home......Janet won!!
Beautiful animal isn't he?
Nice male Calumma malthe. Did Joel Powell own him before you?
Best Regards

Wow!!! He's amazing!
No, he came from Craig's store. He's a fairly recent import and he was just too darn cute to leave. I know absolutely nothing about his species, just that he was the cutest perkiest little thing I've ever seen. I named him before I even thought he would be coming home with me. If you have any links to their care, their habitat, etc., I would really appreciate it. I've found something on the Red List, but haven't read it yet.
I also bought a pair of Trioceros Hoehnelii. A very heavily gravid female was hanging off the ceiling looking unhappy and I just couldn't leave her. I think the Kenyan shipment came in only two days ago.
It was a lot of fun to go looking at chameleons with Joel; it was like Christmas shopping--for myself!
So many chameleons, so few cages.
Craig said he had no Calumma malthe?!? I was looking to buy a pair a couple months ago.
They saved that male for you Janet.
Good thing though I got to pick up a healthy pair of Calumma malthe today at the Lodi Reptile Show. The lady that sold them to me had a candy list of mid to large Madagascar species of chameleons to buy. I am good with the Calumma malthe pair I got.
Photo's in a couple days.

Glad you got your pair. I didn't even know they existed until yesterday. They sure are cute. Will you put up a picture of the female?
Janet
Of course I can post photo's of the female.
I just want to acclimate the pair a while before I attempt a photo shoot of any kind. They appear to be a healthy pair. Now I have to collect fecal samples in the greenhouse and confirm their health.

I'm just starting to research them. What have you found out about them? Right now I have him set up in the room with the quads and graciliors. I'm not sure he is going to like the amount of water I put on the quads and graciliors.
Janet
My Calumma malthe are located next to my Trioceros quadricornis gracilor in my greenhouse. Although the misting for the enclosures is not the same.
They are an eastern Madagascar forest species and are evolved to experience two seasons a hot and wet summer and a dry and cold winter. Normally the eastern forests are a montane conditions cool, humid, and rain regular (especially during the Madagascar summer). This going to mean your Trioceros quadricornis gracilor and Calumma malthe have somewhat similar conditions.
As far as more research here is two books.
1st Petr Necas: Chameleons- Natures Hidden Jewels, second edition revised and expanded edition, Frankfurt am Main 2004: Edition Chimaira
This book has a good article about Calumma malthe.
2nd Glaw, F- M. Vences (2007): A Field Guide to the Amphibians and Reptiles of Madagascar, Third Edition. Cologne, Vences &Verlag, 496 pages
This book has some good information about Calumma malthe as well. That should start you off.

Thanks Jeremy,
I can't find the first book, CHAMELEONS--NATURE'S HIDDEN JEWELS. Any suggestions of where to look for it?
