Meet Bubble!

Just wanted to share a couple of photos of my Sugar Glider, Bubble! :D Her name really suits her as she is so small and light!! She'll be 5 years old in February.

Thanks guys!! Yeah, she is beautiful!! She's so small I can close my hand around her when she's curled up!! Her sister Bonnie was 3 times bigger than her - Bonnie had the 'fat genes', bless her!! Sadly she died on her 4th birthday in May 08.:( I think she had heart failure due to her large size. :(

Yep, she sure is noisy!! She's got a wheel in her cage and she runs round like a mad thing all night!! :D Her cage is in the lounge which makes it pretty impossible to get any sleep if you choose to sleep on the sofa!! :D

SO Cute I wished they were legal here!!! I would get a few!!!

Whereabouts are you from Dante? Sugar Gliders are growing in popularity here in the UK. When I got my first glider over 8 years ago, nobody had heard of them! I used to take him to work with me in a sleeping pouch that hung around my neck! Good job he wasn't very heavy!! :D

Looks so cute but I watched a youtube guide to keeping them video that put me off for life. It talked about pee spraying!

heres some pics of mine

Pee spraying? None of mine ever did that. The video is probably referring to 'scent marking' which they do in their cages, on the furniture, on you, etc, etc, to mark their territory!! Its only a couple of drops, unless they decide to empty their bladder on you! Bubble may look sweet, but she can pee for England!:D

Now chinchillas, that's a different story! We had a female once that hated our male and whenever she caught sight of him she'd rear up on her back legs and fire pee at him!! Nice!:D She had a mean streak in her and hated him with a vengeance!:D

Aww! Joeys - how cute!! I never had mine from babies, but I had a friend who bred them so I got to see babies, just not that tiny!

They are soo sweet! Did you breed them yourself?

Bubble made me bleed this morning! I was trying to feed her a waxworm before she went to sleep for the day, and she reached through the bars and grabbed my finger with her little hand and wouldn't let go. Yow! Boy did that hurt! :D so much that it probably would have hurt less if she'd bitten me! Time to trim those nails I think! :D She REALLY wanted that waxworm!

She's so sweet though - she waits till I get up in the morning to give her a treat before she settles down to sleep! Won't be getting my fingers that close again!

I love sugar gliders. The pics of the joeys are adorable. I don't think I would ever own them again unless they had their own room in the basement, lol. They will keep you up at night for sure. Plus the scent marking of the males is horrid. I used to power spray their cage down, and that just gave them more of an excuse to re-mark it. Peeeewwww! Worse than ferrets IMO.
