I took Donnie to the vet last week and found out he had an intestinal parasite. The doctor prescribed Panacur to be given once a week for 4 weeks. The first time I administered it he tried to bite me, so it was easy to put a drop in his mouth. Lately I have been handling him more because I dont want him to associate me with the thought of being given meds all the time. As a result he does not bite anymore, or open his mouth at all. The doctor said to gently squeeze the sides of his mouth. I have tried for 2 days but to no avail. Anybody have any tips on getting him to open wide?

have someone hold him, and use a credit card to gently pry his mouth open.

You can inject the meds into his favorite feeder and just let him eat it.

The meds need to be INTO the feeders? If it comes to that?

The idea is that he's more likely to strike at and swallow a favorite feeder and not realize it has meds inside. Some have gotten their chams to strike at a feeder with the Panacur paste smeared on it.
