Mean Chams?

Sorry, not trying to be a thread hog, but have these questions.......... why do you guys keep mean chameleons that attack you? Just curious on different answers and feelings...

Because they really won't attack you unless you're trying to handle them, and you shouldn't be handling them often anyways. And some can turn out to be nice when you've had them in your care for a while

Because if we didn't there would be a lot of homeless chameleons.

They aren't mean, it's their natural behavior.

I will say that I beleive I had a mean Veiled. The male was so cool but the female was super aggressive and not just defensive as soon at the cage was unzipped she was coming for ya. I was in constant fear for my fingers.

We don't buy the animals as something we intend to handle. Chameleons are a pet that is best suited as something you look at and don't bother.

Yah with as mean as my female was it makes me wonder why anybody would be into dog fighting when they could Cham fight theres where the action would be at! (Jus kiddin I in no way condone cham fighting)

I understand, I am not insinuating in any way that they should be left without a home. I just know that I would be afraid to put my hands in a cage with some of the chameleons that I have heard about.

And that is why I use a stick! I can use my hand if he's eating, but that's only because he's distracted and even then it's not fool proof!

Why do you have two cham temperament threads going?

You don't know how the cham will be until you raise them up... but like others have said... they aren't meant to be handled. they aren't play toys.
