I was on vacation on Maui last week, I didn't get to see any Jacksons in the "wild" there, but I went to a local pet store there, and here is what they had!!! All females that were "w.c." from the island..Check out the price! And no thats not a real snake...

The snake may not be real but the cham doesnt know that. The pet store owner should have their azz kicked for letting someone stick a rubber snake in a cham cage. Since snakes are one of their biggest predators in the wild its freaking the cham out.

I thought exactly the same. Poor chams. :(

I thought they only had Jacksons on Oahu? I guess it doesn't surprise me that people would release them on other islands as well...

At least they declare them as WC and not as adult CBs like the ones which are sold frequently on Kingsnake adds. I don't know if there are any authorities in the US looking for things like this, but selling WC animals as CB is a form of cheating ....

I should also mention I did get to see a pair of Jacks in an outside cage at a botanical garden in the upcountry area of maui at the 3300 foot level. The manager there told me that they had caught those two on the grounds.Sorry about the picts. Those are the best ones I could get through the screen mesh!

Interesting. The pet shop enclosures are much nicer and cleaner then I would have expected. Thanks for sharing!!!

Look at that price ticket... Might as well give them away for free, we don't even get a veiled for that price! Poor things though... I hate pet stores like that but unfortunatly you have them all over the world.

Eszzie, Whats wrong with this pet store? The enclosures look much better then many others I have seen in PS's. The price is so cheap because its HI and Jacksons are collected there. Go on HI's Craigslist, Ive seen them for as low as $10-15. Now Thats Cheap!!!

Therefore there's no market in selling them....the introduction of Jacksons to Hawaii has ruined the trade for them.....it's like buying an anole in Florida from a petstore....you want a jacks? Take a short ride to the island that hosts them. And wahla.... They shouldn't be sold...common...just let them be. And if you do take one....then make sure your doing it right....or atleast raise it outside....

I found this add on craigslist... Amazing! 10 whole dollars.
