Mantis Ooths

Does anybody have any ooths for sale? I found some pretty good deals online. Just wanted to see if there was anyone on here that had some. I've been dying to get some, but it's just been too hot.

I believe the ooth season starts at the beginning of the year unless you have breeder mantids. Usually the most common ooths available are chinese mantis and they run about $5-$7 each.The more uncommon the mantis the higher the ooth sells for.

The ooth season starts soon in some areas. There might be a few already available. $30 is a lot for a common species.

It stays pretty hot here, so I'm not sure if that mean's it will be harder to get them/ sooner. I was figuring $30 for 250 (12 cents/per) didn't seem to bad. Especially since crickets at petsmart here sale for the same. Speaking of which, the ACE Hardware here sales nice crickets for 5 cents a piece. Cheapest I've seen around. Plus, they were feeding them only apples, orange peels, some type of melon, and I think pretzels. The cage was surprisingly extremely well kept. Once my little guy get's big enough, that's where I'll be going for now on. They also sale night crawlers and I think that were inch worms (fish feeders). I've also heard some sale mealworms. That's why I went in the first place. It would be sweet if they got some mantis in.

$30 for 250 ooths?? Where did you find that?

Sometimes hardware stores have ooths for sale, but not usually before january or so. I usually have some in the fall through spring to sell but it's too early for it right now. Especially where I am. I'm really, really lucky if I can find 5 at this time and those are the first laid of the season (before I fridge them so that people can hatch them quickly when they get them if they want.) If you wait a month or two I and other will have them for sale. Ssimsswiss might have some from his personal breeding stock if you ask him.

No not 250 ooths. 250+ can hatch from one of their ooths. If you google mantis ooth for sale its the second one that pops up.

You're lucky if you can get a european mantid ooth to hatch 250! I've had some giant ones hatch maybe 250-300 but normal ones rarely hatch more than 100-150.

yeah most ooths will likely hatch about 100 nymphs.Even then, most of them die from cannibalism, and mismolts.$30 for a single ooth is way too much, I would wait like Pshh said and save your money for a better deal.

Yeah it's no rush. I've been wanting to add them for months now, and just had no idea when or where to get them. I saw a forum post from a guy that sales feeders that may have some. I'll see if he emails me back.

There is a member here that you can pm, but you can also visit cricket cracks FB. Cricket crack is a great gutload to look into as well.
I paid less then 5 bucks each per ooth along with other items to make the shipping worth it.

Oh wow, five bucks an ooth does sound pretty legit. There was one guy on here a few months back with some ghost, #9, and other ooths that I should have jumped on. Do you know the members name?

Nope, but I know site that's them for 4$, they'll have them in stock next month
