hello everyone, it has been awhile since I have posted here, but I ran into a problem a few days ago.

I noticed on my male chams head, he has bump that is smaller than a pea. I have not changed anything in his diet of his cage in some time. I will attach a pic so you can see what it looks like. If nned be, I can find a vet to take him to, but I live in the BOONIES and there isnt much around.

A little about the cham. 4 year old male. cage is 4x2x2 custom made screen cage with a big scheffelera(sp) in it. I have a misting system that runs twice a day for 4 mins each. he eats a variety of food, but mostly gut loaded roaches and crickets that are dusted twice a week. the temp gets into the high 80's in the basking spot during the day and down to 72 at night.

any help would be appreciated.

Jeffrey

Could be many things.
But, i am guessing it's an infection.
He might have scratch his head on something and now it get infected.

A lot of posts like this end up being infections, schedule a vet visit! Best of luck.

Maybe an abscess from infected wound, in which case you probably would need a vet to lance it, drain the puss, clean the wound, and possibly provide antibiotics.

Please help me

Help me I'm only young and I have had my chameleon for about 4 months he's called rango and recently (about 4 weeks ago) my lizard has developed a bump on its head over the past 2 weeks it has gotten bigger and at first I thought it was a horn but now I think it is a abbcess please help and how much would it cost to get a vet to drain it I've read through other people's replies and I'm gettin worried:(

Hi Chameleon2341, your chameleon has a infection more than likely that is in the nasolacrimal duct. The only way to solve this issue is to take your veiled into a vet that is knowledgeable with reptiles to do a culture on the infection to determine the proper antibiotics to cure your guy here.

Good luck :)

Edit: This is a great read for you to get an idea of where the infection is and how to help your vet with some info :) https://www.chameleonforums.com/question-about-nasal-passages-nasolacrimal-duct-101170/
