I bought a Panther Chameleon 4 months ago but was just recently told that my chameleon looks female. Purchased him/her as a male. Can someone please help me out? Thanks!

I feel really stupid how do you guys know ?

Don't feel stupid, I didn't know either at first. There is no bulge at the base of the tail. It's straight and the colors definitely look female.

Yeah, fast. If you don't provide one or she chooses not to lay because she didn't get her privacy she will get egg bound and die.

Laying bin for inside the cage should be at least 12" x 12" deep x 8" and opaque. I fill mine with a washed playsand that is moist enough to hole a tunnel. It's recommended that the container be left in the cage at all times once the chameleon is sexually mature...and yours is....so you don't miss the time she needs to lay eggs.

With female panther chameleons it's important not to constantly overfeed them so they won't produce large clutches that may be difficult to lay and hard on their health
