so i just got a ambanja panther chameleon a few days ago and i wanted to know if it was a female or a boy. it does show a little blue on its face when it is light. here is a quick pic of my chameleon i will take some better ones when i get home. thank you for your time and helping me out. :)

I just got the pic... Try to get a pic of where the tail meets the body... If there is an obvious bulge its a male

sorry for the bad picture. i will take a few more when i get home. but thank you for all of the help. i am new to the chameleon

That huge color switch from the first picture is going to make me agree with female... Although its really not necessary for a beginner like me to be the aggregate vote with a moderator lol.... But the peach coloration is a dead giveaway to me

Kent67 got it, he is very experienced and knows his stuff

plus i agree its female too,

ok thank you. man i wish i would have gotten a boy. well LLLReptile told me it was a boy. but i guess not. i hope she can still get some nice color in her and i will be happy. time will tell.

I figured it was from LLL. They were selling them for 175? I asked for a male, but they couldn't guarantee.. You can always get a male in the future and breed!

ya I'd say its a girl too. In my experience the females get circular patterns on their sides rather than stripes. Its tough to determine when they're so little :/. Girls can be great; smaller cage, mine's more tame than my male, and doesn't eat like a pig :p

On such a small cham, color isnt as reliable as you may think. The most effective way is to look at the base of the tail. Color, even as peachy as she might look, will not always make you certain of what he/she is. Look at her size compared to the person's finger, tiny! If she was big, then yes, the color would be a reliable method of determining the sex of the cham.
