Male abanja w/ eye problem

Hi all, I just bought this guy off someone on CL, who had him for a little over a year, from screameleons. I checked him out on Saturday and he looked fine, however I was unable to fit his 6 ft+ cage into my van. So we came back the following wed to pick him up, we were running late and in a rush and I did not inspect him thoroughly before leaving.

We got him home and immediately noticed that he wasn't opening his right eye, and that when he did, it didn't open fully, he also blinks it really hard. Over the next 2 days, I thought his eye might have been getting smaller,(like maybe it was my imagination) but now I definitely notice a difference in mass between the left eye and right.

I talked to a guy at an lfs who told me that Panties (he was named by my 3 y/o who cant pronounce panther) might be dehydrated. He drinks water from a spray bottle daily, and the mister goes off 2x a day. I've been feeding him corn worms hoping that they contain more moisture than crickets. Which was going great, but he stopped eating 2 days ago.

(my iPad and I are having issues)
Scratch that last thing about not eating, he just found a rouge cricket and ate it. Should I switch back to crickets? That's what the previous owner fed him. I've also been spraying him with water, but he really doesn't like it, should I keep doing it? I was told it would help him absorb more water.
Is it time for us to get him to a vet, and if so, can you guys recommend on near San jose?
Thanks so much in advance and sorry for being such a newb!

There are many different feeders you can offer your chameleon, such as silkworms, hornworms(I am guessing you meant that, not cornworms?), dubias roaches, wax worms, phoenix worms, meal worms(in moderation on those) superworms are the most popular feeders. So definitely offer him more food choices. When you are spraying him, number one make sure the water is not cold, but warm and You don't have to spray directly at him. Just spray so the it creates like a rain forest effect. Can you post a picture of his eye? He could have an injury or an infection.

I dont know how far you are from him, but Ive heard nothing but good reviews about Dr. Greek on this site. He's supposed to know his stuff about chams.

Yeah, if it were me I'd friggin drive several hrs to somone that knows their stuff as opposed to wasting time and $$$ and the chams health on a noob cham vet. Jm .02 A novice on chams can do more harm than good most instances.

Fremont is in north Cali, between San Jose and San Fran. I don't know how to post pics, but I can email them off my phone. I've been having a hard time finding anything other than mealworms and crickets around here, so we've been going to our local organic veggie stand and they let us pick through the corn bins. The catipilars don't seem to last for more than 2 days.

I'm going to call a vivarium I just found out about and ask for a referral to a vet, wish me luck!

You have Mulberry Farms right there in California which supply hornworms, superworms, butterworms, silkworms roaches, etc.. You order them online and they ship them to your house! Good luck with the vet!

If you wanna post a pic just go to make a post and click on the little paperclip and attach a pic from your computer. If that doesn't work, I download my pics on photobucket. You copy and paste them on here, it is free!
