Making my 1st laying bin ( Help)

I'm just off out to buy what I need for a laying bin.
I'm going to get a
-medium size plastic bin with flap lid
-organic soil
-can I use BAMBOO STICKS as something good to climb? Picture attached of what I mean

What else do u need please.....
