Did u read the caption he wrote about how it was breathing, heart beating, eyes fluttering, thru-out the whole disection, how cruel!! He said he wanted to make sure they weren't incubating 50 eggs for nothing, as if it was a hassle if they were infertle-not so important that it would call for him to do that!! Very sad!

I find it sad personally, but never-the-less interesting. Bit of a waste of life, especially seeing as another month he would have found out if they were fertile anyway, not to mention, whats wrong with candling the egg?
I guess the person made the excuse to satisfy personal curiosity, I know Veiled Chams are cheap in America, for that matter, so is Life itself apparently.

After reading responses, I have chose not to view the content.:( My tummy is turning already knowing what its about..

i saw that video a couple weeks ago, but i didnt want to post it because well, im pretty sure we all love chameleons. i understand that humans kill animals for science which i believe is justifiable, but killing an innocent animal for the sake of curiosity. come on people, dont you have anything better to do. i mean thats really sick.

There was nothing 'scientific' gained by that tool - he used a household steak knife in a non-sterile environment - it wasn't for science, it was for pure morbid curiosity.

i aggree. just because you are curious, doesnt mean that you can kill a living being. there are other ways to see if an egg is fertile.

It's probably best to read the old thread on this rather than continue. It went long. I can sum it up for you: Dead baby lizard is sad. Curiosity and scientific research go together, and without curiosity, not much research will get done. There is no qualification for doing research and discovery, just opinions. And ultimatly, that's where this thread will go (all this has happened before and it will happen again (ok, who else is nerd enough to get that?!?!?)) .

It comes down to opinion. This stuff happens all the time in labs and biology classes. There are some that dont' want that going on, and some that think it's somethign only suited FOR labs and classes, and some who see it as being perfectly ok, and some see it as being ok, but still sad.

That's pretty much it. Now, you wanna talk sad - go see a cat-food stand in china. and I'm not talking about tender vittles or friskies or fancy feast...

Every time you eat chicken or any meat for that matter something died, and died a death that is unbearable for most of us. Not to mention the life it lived before it died.

Born into bondage, living in cramped quarters, eating the same thing day after day, wandering around in feces till its time to die.
What did you have for lunch?

I'm having short ribs, hot links, and burgers..
While I wouldn't do it if I thought the egg was still viable,
I have cut open a dead mellers to see what the insides looked like and out of curiousty, I just didn't record and put it on YouTube..
Well time to eat :D
