The camera may love the Mellers, but the Mellers do NOT love the camera!

Juli they are both incredable. How big are they these days? I would love to have a mellers but would want to free range them and I just don't have the room.:(

Very handsome boys! They are really growing. Seems like they were just tiny little things a few months ago. They both look great!:)

I love it when you post pictures of Major and Minor! They are awesome. I have totally fallen in love with my two, Dayo and Asmar. They are eat up with personality! I finally caught the two of them sleeping close together the other night! I was tickled pink. Keep your pictures coming!

Hay Juli do you free range your guys or are they in cages? If they are in cages are they together or different cages? What size cage would it take for one mellers? Not that I am thinking about getting one, well I am not thinking too much, but the idea keeps cropping up in my brain - I don't know why.;););)

Also the brev's I got from you are doing wonderful and growing like tiny weeds, thanks again.

Major and Minor are currently in separate cages. I have had Major since the day after he hatched, and Minor is approx. the same age, but he was about 11 months old when I got him. I have tried introducing them, but as much as Minor would be fine with it, Major completely freaks out. The cages they are currently in but outgrowing are 4 feet tall, by 2 feet wide, by 3 1/2 feet long. With my dogs and open top container raising of the baby chams and brevs, free ranging won't work. I could just see Major perched over a baby bin snacking on 2 month old Panthers! When it cools off here I will be constructing a floor to ceiling cage-I am thinking 7-8 feet tall to accomodate the lights, 3 feet deep and 5 feet wide.

Hey, Julirs, I'm planning on getting a Meller's chameleon down the road. I have a 2'x2'x4' cage on standby. At what age/length would you move them to a bigger enclosure? Thanks.

I would say around a year-but with Mellers particularly I would say it would depend on the individual-some get really agitated when they think their cage is too small.

What I'll probably do then is convert my indoor steamroom into a free range. All it would need is a fan for some air circ.
