made a sound again help?

i was spraying down pascales cage and he made a high pitch sound for the 2nd day in a row i know it was him and not a cricket i was standing right there......is he ok?

I do not own Veilds, but I remember seeing this before on here and someone posted an article that they can make a noise like that. I will see if I can find the article.

I did not find the article, but this is a quote from one of our members, Trace from a thread from a few years ago. She is super knowledgeable, so believe what she says!

"Veiled Chameleons actually do make a sub-sonic squeaking sound when threatened or irritated. It’s like a hoot almost. You can’t hear it so much unless you have your ear right up against the chameleon, but you can feel it in your hand when you are holding them. It is thought that it serves as protection against predators.

Some people have described the sound as a shriek or chirp. Perhaps this is what you are hearing".

Yah they can make that noise my male Jackson's has made it before, and he was just scared. I think your okay you probably just freaked him out.

I don't know then! Maybe he does not like it when you come in the room. I also remember someone posting that they heard something like you are describing with their Veild. Maybe yours is just making a louder noise and feels threatened.
