Glad to hear you had a good trip. If the little Brookesia you found was in Andasibe, it is actually Brookesia peyrierasi, not Brookesia minima. If it was on Nosy Be, then its B. minima but then again, if you went to Montagne de Ambre and found it there, it was actually Brookesia tuberculata. Also, the short-nosed chameleon is a Calumma nasutum as Kent said.

See, I wish I had someone like you on the trip. The guides had absolutely no clue what they were talking about, and couldn't even identify half of the species. Ideally, I would have arranged to go on a Bill Love trip, but we called him up and he wasn't going at all this summer Nevertheless, it was still amazing, but it probably would be been a little more chameleon oriented if I went with Bill or someone similar. Here's some more pics:

After I told the gardener that I liked chameleons, he kept on going out into the forest and bringing me Panthers lol. Here's one that he brought back...

Michele - The Brookesia you posted the pic of but wasn't sure which species it was looks like B. stumpffi but there are a number of similar species that I'd need locality info and possibly closer pics to differentiate for you. The second photo in your latest post with the green cham with the rostral process is a Furcifer petteri. Bill's tours are great but you have to catch one that is doing what you want it to be. He'll do general tours, tortoise tours, panther chameleon tours and a few others and while you'll see other stuff, you need to consider what your goals are. When I went with Bill, I was lucky enough for it to be just us on the tour and I was able to tell Bill exactly what it was I wanted to see so I got the most out of it possible. The other thing is that his tours tend to in December and January since that is the best time of year to see most of the reptiles.

Chris@: Thanks for your identification help. You lost me a little bit on the Brookesia though, lol. Yeah, you're really fortunate to have gone on a Bill Love trip with only the two of you! If we accumulate enough frequent flyer miles, I'd love to back next year. Like you mentioned, all the animals are active in December and onward, but I heard it rains like you wouldn't believe, and that the bugs are unbearable. If I were to go back, is there any locations you would especially recommend?
