Hi i have a breeding pair of madagascar day geckos and over the last couple of weeks i have noticed the male has been struggling to stay on the glass slipping down alot and staying on the ground most of the time.
This dose tend to happen when his about to shed but he normally dose it by now and i have noticed when spot cleaning that the urine is yellow so i have been trying to give him water with a syringe
Dose anyone know anything about these or what could be wrong i would much appreciate it

I've bred these guys before.
Not sure what is going on with your male. The toe pads are passive- he should stick with no effort.
Not sure how to correlate that with they urates. Maybe your terraria is not humid enough and he is dehydrating and one symptom is shed is not coming off his toe tips or pads? Often geckos of most species that are kept without enough humidity for shedding cannot remove skin from toes- sometimes toes are lost as a result.

If you describe your husbandry I'll point out anything that jumps out at me as a possible problem...

ok thanks i will post some pics tomorrow as its lights out now its usually around 65% in the day with basking temp 80-85 i did take the waterfall out as it kept going gunky to quick i might try putting it back in
the female seems fine she sheds all the time and just laid yesterday thanks again

Can you take a super closeup of your male's feet and check for stuck shed?

Just looking at your photo- the mulch looks dry. Is it dry or slightly damp? Is it possible you have dust on the glass from dry mulch? When I use mulch with lizards, I tend to soak it pretty good and then let it dry out and then repeat. Gives off humidity that way. Dry mulch seems to have a bit of dust to it, which I don't think is so good for lizard lungs.

It sounds like you are doing pretty well overall though- with your female laying regularly.

Sorry- not sure I have a good answer for you on the male. I'm just trying to connect dots from his urates and toes as if they are related, and tossing ideas out to you...

What do you feed for diet? Do you use a commercial food or insects and fruit baby food or? I would think large quantities of moist commercial food or baby food would help keep him hydrated...

I will post the pic after work today as for the mulch i spray it in the morning giving it a good soaking and let it dry out through the day
I have also just added the little dripper to try and help
Food they have 100% fruit baby food and every couple of days il mix it with crested gecko food (powder) i also keep a pot of just the dry gecko food in there and reptile jelly pots
Bugs they have locust dusted with nutrobal calcium & multiviamin 2-3 times a week and some wax worms

This is the best i could get if i can get a better one i will post it on
