Looking to get a cham

So I have been doing my research and started building my cage. Wondering how it looks so far. I know I want to get a good live plant but how is this for a start. I’m trying to make sure everything is setup as well as can be before I bring a Cham home. Also if anyone has suggestions on where I could find a panther here in Washington or any other suggestions please let me know. Thanks for your help

Congrats on your decision chams are great but I’ve owned one for a week and now I know why they say it’s hard.The daily struggles of husbandry can be tough make sure you make some sort of plan for drainage(I did not till yesterday)it’s not touch on that much but very important also everyone is going to tell you to get t5ho linear bulbs(hear compacts are bad for Cham eyes) I myself have the same one you have and wish I purchased the correct ones in the first place.It look great lots of place to hide but your gonna want to get the live plants asap they really help with humidity.Some of the others more exp. keepers will chime in with some great advice just keep checking the site,almost sure that you can get a great Cham from one of this websites sponsor such as flchams,chameleonsonly.etc

As touched on, linear t5ho uv, live plant/s to help fill the center a bit, a few more trail ways for the cham and drainage and you've got a decent start there . When you order the t5ho, go with the 24" fixture to save having to upgrade down the road. On that short of a cage you'll want a 5.0 reptisun or 6% arcadia, though I will say I like the arcadia bulbs better.

If you're in Washington state there are a few good ones I can think of atm if you want to stay some what local to you. @Matt Vanilla Gorilla is northern California and a very good breeder, Jon at The Chameleon Ranch and Cesar of Cesar's chams are in Oregon and also good people to buy from, not sure on the availability of any of them though.

Agree with dshuld on the good start. Definitely start thinking about drainage and also eventually a bigger cage once the panther gets to adult size

I'm also in Washington State. I got mine shipped from a breeder on the site and I have eggs from Matt. Make sure you have at least a 24x24x48 tall cage. Panthers grow quickly.

I will say that the more I learn that if you are looking for one that will tolerate holding then veiled have a lower tolerance then panthers.
