lonely chameleon?

hey guys i got a question.
Has anyone ever heard of chameleon that likes people being around them?
Mine always seems to be dark/black when no ones around, then as soon as i come downstairs he brightens up and seems happy?
Any idea what this could be?

Well, it's not that he's exactly happy, but that you are providing some stimulus for him to react to. A calm cham without much to do tends to be quieter duller colored. Chams brighten up their colors when they are aroused and active...not because they are happy to see you. They can also show much of the same color change when pissed off too (so take it however you wish)

most of my panther's react to me and they start scratching thier screen door to get out and my merlleri darts at my leg,lol
