Unfortunately,... Unless you are in the UK it is not legal to ship locousts in America. If that was not the case I would be rolling in dough right now since very few of us breed them.
I'm lucky enough to live in the country where I have an unlimited supply.
I think it's because of pest control and maintaining crop yeilds. Some areas like up north do not have many and it is a risk of infestation that can lead to millions of dollares in damage to crops.
That makes sense! But its still easier to buy them then to catch em wild! Here in Utah we use to have millions and millions of grasshoppers..but now I only see one once in awhile!! But thanks for your help!
I see many of them around my yard in the summer time. My young panther cham loves them. Unfortunately, I've heard crickets are still a better feeder for them since they can be gutloading much easier.
I feed locusts to my cham as im in the uk. My cham gets 3 adult locusts every other day. An adult locust is the same as 2-3 adult crickets which makes them cheaper!
I'd rather be able to get locusts than horns. Horns are great dont get me wrong but they arent really a staple feeder. And if you dont hatch em out yourself they are exp to buy in the cups.
