Locusts evolving...

Hi everyone...Sorry if this is going to turn out to be a stupid topic but today I was told that locusts evolve....they get bigger and their wiings get huge, like longer than their bodies and they're either harmless or harmful depending on the colour they turn into...the light coloured ones are known as angel locusts but the red ones are spikey and known as devil locusts that attack your cham... If anyone else knows anything more about this I'd appreciate the info!!
Thanks!

I've never heard that! I've been keeping chams (and locusts) for 3 years. I don't ever leave any food to roam free inmy vivs - crickets have been known to bite sleeping chameleons so I just don't take the risk. Mine all hand feed anyway. Locusts can, and do, bite - I have been bitten by one and it left tiny red marks on my finger, but they don't usually stay on my finger long enough to bite once Amy sees them! :D I know that one sex of locust (can't remember which) will turn pink at once stage. They go through 5 moults, or 'instars' and the final instar being adult complete with wings! The wings are really pretty, like lacy net curtains, lol! My big boy-cham Tommy LOVES the ones with wings! :D Here's a pic of an adult with wings - quite impressive!

What else would u recommend feedin then? I'm havin trouble gettin hoppers at the moment, only have a few left for him and have been advised against crickets because they move too quick?

Locusts are the swarming phase of grasshoppers. Its overcrowding that makes them change and makes the color change and makes them hungrier too. It might have something to do with the hind legs rubbing on those of others when they are overcrowded that plays a part in them being "stimulated" to change.

* a locust starts glowing white and turns into a pokemon * :D

lol thats what i was going to say.

yes locust evolve into pokemon.

they molt throughout their stages like any insect and grow producing new parts (wings) and colour... crickets do this as well.
