Hello everyone, I am a new member of these forums, with a huge passion for chameleons. I live in Canada and unfortunately here we have a very lacking chameleon community, with rarely ever anything offered for sale. I have been looking, and in the not too distant future intend on making a large order specifically for various panther chameleon locales. I know there are several very decent breeders scattered across the US. My problem is this, if I am required to purchase my chameleons from several breeders, I will get hit with the costs of permits from each individual breeder, but if I can find a single breeder who has a large variety of panthers, I can put them all onto one cities application, and save myself a large amount of money in fees. I will be looking to get around 20 chameleons. 1.1 of the locales I like, I know some are going to be a lot more difficult to find than others, but if anyone can point me in the right direction of someone who is likely to have what I am looking for, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time! I'm glad to be part of this community!!

I am located in Vancouver BC, and yes I have seen trinity chameleons, but their availability always seems to be very minimal. I was interested in purchasing from Screameleons, but they too have minimal selections as to what is available. I guess I will just have to be patient!

Yeah there is a severe lack of interesting chameleons up here right now. :(

If you are going to do an import up from the US may I suggest not getting solely 1.1 of each species or locale. Suppose one gets sick or suppose one dies out of the pair? As you are quickly discovering, the chances of finding a substitute mate up here is difficult at best and you can’t really establish any long term projects with just two animals. Choose a locale or two you like, get a larger breeding group and specialize in them.

yah Trace, its really awful. I think lack of education on just how wonderful of a pet these guys can make really limits the interest in them. Everyone has this idea in their head that chameleons are nothing but a headache, and an expensive one at that, when really if you are properly prepared for the commitment of owning a chameleon, its not any more work than most other pets. And I think we can all agree the personalities of chameleons are pretty hard to match! And yes thank you for the import advice, you make a very good point, as I would hate to lose a chameleon to sickness, and then be stuck in the same situation as I am now, without a decent Canadian source to purchase a replacement.

i'm lucky that i'm in southern ontario, located about 1-2 hours away from a few of the site sponsors, but even with that, its still somewhat hard to find them. there is only one local shop in my area that has them for sale (they have 2-3 senegals) and one shop has 3 veiled chams that are 7-10 week old. every shop also said something about panthers "not being in season" (whatever that means) and none are getting more chams until the fall from what they tell me...

yet to contact the sponsors but i'm also not quite ready to purchase either.

i live in vancouver BC to and their are many places to get chams here, look at the site sponsers, in the near future i could sell you some nosy falys and nosy be's if interested i also usualy have veileds. PM me what lacale you want and i could help you out with a place to get it. i cant name all the places now as their are to many:)

Thanks, theres a good chance I just might take you up on that offer! Just out of curiousity, was is the average price you sell your Be's and Faly's for? Feel free to PM me that info if you don't want to make it public. In the not too distant future, I have plans on building a relatively large breeding population, between 15-20 female breeders, possibly more, space permitting. I have been away from reptiles for a bit now, and upon my return from China, where I am currently working, I will be jumping head first back in. Thanks for all the replies :)
