hi everyone me and my wife have ordered a ficus and Schefflera for our Cham viv and was wondering what soil to use in the pots for them? Normal topsoil. Or something like Exo Terra plantation soil?

ficus is fine and Schefflera also known as the umbrella plant is also fine, whawt kind of chameleon do you have?

When I get new plants for my cages I rinse the foliage thoroughly. When I repot them I put an inch of gravel in the bottom of the pot for drainage and to prevent root rot from all the misting. I replace at least the top inch of soil with a good organic soil that has no perlite or fertilizer pieces. For good measure I cover the soil with rocks that are larger than my chameleons head to keep them from eating any soil.

nice but veileds are notorious for eating substrate, put down some leaf litter to prevent that from happening or maybe large rocks

I like to keep hibiscus with my veileds. They eat the plant instead of the substrate
