live plant help

Thanks guys, I was going to buy a fern today but the guy said he wasn't sure if they had plain non-toxic soil. I would go to a nursery but there is none close by. I found a soil type at home depot called organic soil, I'm going to do some research on that. Good news! I got my homemade drop set up it works great!

I dont know about how safe the fern is, but I know it probably wont provide a great climbing structure.

Try a sheffelera, ficus, or hibiscus. They provide good branch support for climbing. They are very very common and should be easy to find. Please read the links that are given to you, they are a better resource than shooting in the dark and asking the braindead depot staff.

Find one bigger than the cage and cut it down to size. Organic soil is good. I never use commercial organic, so maybe someone here can help.

Where on the west coast are you? There should be tons of nurseries around.

Edit: I will provide both links again, since you seem to have missed them.
