Littlefoot & Mr. Jack photo dumps

Hey out there,

Sorry, I feel like I may have been flooding the forums recently... But, who here doesn't like a good 'ol photo dump of some beloved Cham's?!

In today's adventures, we have BSF vs my female vailed (Littlefoot) and Jackson X (Mr. Jack)...

Miss. Littlefoot, in the red corner; ran up for a pounce, then slowly stalked in for the kill. Like the gentle soul She is.

Mr. Jack, in the blue corner, came in full out swinging; shadow boxing and striking with his mighty precision. Get 'em boy! 😍

I'll add some baby pictures of each tomorrow.

Mr. Jack was the little man who made me finally make the jump and get a chameleon. Six years ago my older brother had kept some wild caught carpet chameleons, so I had a bit of knowledge of them; but I never had a cham myself. And A LOT has changed in the knowledge of husbandry since. I've been lurking the forum for the past year trying to absorb all the knowledge I could. I narrowed down my cham choices to either a vailed, or jackson.

I found a reputable pet store that a friend of mine got a cham from, and I was sold! ... The problem? December winters in Canada, eh! Mr. Jack was on the east coast and I was on the west. So, I had to wait a few months before I could have him shipped. I went to the local pet shop to buy supplies and get things ready for him. I had been asking the local shop if they ever get chams, and they said the last time they had them was 4 years ago. So, I had given up on getting a local cham. BUT on this trip to the shop, the owner remembered me and said he had a new shipment in the back... 5 baby vaileds! 😍 I saw Littlefoot, and didn't even have to see the others, she stole my heart. The shop kept her in quarantine for 3 weeks and did a poop test before letting me take her home.... then when the weather got better Mr. Jack was able to be shipped... and that's the story of how I ended up with two different juvenile chams.

Mr. Jack was the model for the shop's website:

Unboxing Mr. Jack. He showed up in full shed mode, poor fella. But was super healthy!

Being a goober, he always screen climbing, so I got him a XL reptibreeze ASAP.

A few weeks ago he moved into his big boy home:

They are such cute little babies! Littlefoot looks so cute in her baby pastel greens, no wonder she spoke to you.
Mr. jack tiny horns are so cute. Can't wait to see them as they grow more :) Especially neat seeing jack's horns coming in with each photo

Littlefoot's first reaction to her cage when I brought her home, drinking away from the leaves.

My little green bean, making arrangements in her cage the next day... obviously a noob build... fake hairy vines and fake foliage around it. 😅 🫣 (February 1)

March was a busy month, my mother was in the hospital; so I only have one picture of Littlefoot.

March 21: She had a weird shed that left a white patch on her eye. It came off with the next shed, and it didn't bother her. Little things we worry about sometimes...

In April I bought her a XL reptibreeze and built her big girl cage. Adding in her lay bin, using all real sticks and plants, and reputable fake vines that didn't flake and fall apart. The cage build is in this post.

April 17: I'm trying to get her into the travel box I made her to drop her off at the cham sitter, because I had to go visit family for a few days. I also use this box to weigh her.

April 28: As she grows, so does the plant collection in the background. 🤣

Some beautiful chams 😍😍

Just one question to be sure; the uvb fixture (the non Arcadia) looks like it has a plastic cover in front of it, if it's, you should remove it because it blocks your uvb. If not, perfect!

It's a zoomed, no plastic. But this does remind me I should test the bulb. 🙂

Sorry about the videos folks, I'm not very tech savvy and YouTube wasn't happy I uploaded too many videos yesterday. Trying to figure out Mr. Jack's strange affinity for his mister. I'll try and get them working this evening.

The working video of Mr. Jack hand feeding. 😁

Mr. Jack and Littlefoot also got their first hornworm in July... I had the poor sales person have a dig for the smallest ones possible... The chams weren't sure what to think but they enjoyed them!

Littlefoot: WHAT is THAT???? Get out of here!!!

Oh never mind... Come back!!! Can I eat that???!!

Mr jack: it's not moving... what IS this??? (... as the video goes out of focus I'm trying to poke the worm to get it to move...) I'll just store it in my belly for you...
