Little dinner Guest

Found this little bloke yesterday while I was moving a garden shed. Seems he was in there eating snails, minding his own buisness when a giant disturbed him. Cute little tyke isnt he. Probably no more than a week or two old.
This a common form Tiliqua scincoids, found all along the east coast.
Saw a slightly larger one just a few days ago. They get into my pit looking for food, well its not a pit exactly, as much as a fenced off area where all my bigger lizards go out to sun.
This little blue will be a dinner guest for a few days while my kids get over his cuteness, then back into garden.
Had a nice salad this morning and a snail or two.

How cute, a miniture bluey. How big are these guys when they get popped out? Way, way too cute! The kids must be in love with him.

LOl None of those here, bar the odd zoo. I hate that photo. If you (anyone) want to mislead the public into fear and ignorance against snakes, that's the photo (deliberately dramatic angle) that'll do it.
Its head is about half the size it seems, the wires are about a handspan apart.
Poor bugger had just had a feed and got electrocuted.

It's too bad they aren't more "tame". Maybe then it would help people understand how cute and cuddly they are.

But that's really interesting, Jo! Never seen that angle. Poor guy.

Wow! Mom must bloat like a football. And I thought I had it bad when I had to pop out just one.

Yes pretty much, around 5 months gestation. Not quite the feat of shinglebacks though,
They have only one or two, same gestation, but the babies are up to 1/3 the size of the mother! Equivalent to a woman giving birth to a three year old child!
