Sorry to hear about the tail but glad you took care of it. It could have gone septic and killed her if left intact. Thats the reason for amputating any human limbs. If it was not a matter of the person dying from infection overtaking the body they would just leave the limb there even if it was pretty useless. People are so freaked out about losing a limb even though the prosthetics are very good these days. You can always change her name to "Bertie". I think that sounds cute. I hope you have an easier go of things with her in the future
