I use a 5/0 reptisun uvb bulb, and a 75 watt hosue bulb for heat.

thanx camimom... does any one know what would be better. the PowerSun or getting the lights separate....

You should buy the 5.0 Repti-Sun or Repti-Glo 18" tube bulb, you'll also have to buy the hood. And I've about the same age panther so you'll want your temps at basking to be at about 85 degrees at the highest. I use a 50 watt bulb, you can either buy the expensive ones at the store or regular house bulbs.

do NOT buy the powersun....it is both too strong (wattage wise) usually and the UVB output of coil lights tends to be insufficient for chams

stick to the long tube UVB bulbs (I'm pretty confident that 99% of the members of this board will refer you to the "reptisun 5.0") and for a basking light you can get a 50-75W bulb depending on your local temps (for my panther, I have his bask spot set right at 84-85 with the cool side of his setup at 72-75).

Also, just a tip, but do NOT buy those basking bulbs at the pet store. They are the EXACT SAME BULBS you buy at Home Depot (the oldschool incandescents)...except at Petco they charge you $10 per bulb :)

What if the cage i have i s a 4x2x2.... or should i still go with the repi-Glo/ repti-sun (any Difference)...

Most of us members use the Reptisun 5.0 tube light in those size cages and never have any problems whatsoever. Use a regular white housebulb to achieve the desired basking temp you want. It is THAT simple....

i use the reptisun and the repti-glo, i just change the reptisun out every 8 months or so and the repti-glo every 6 months or so

ive used powersun for many years now and works fine(i feel they are for free range only, because they put out a higher uvb and heat output witch is harder to control in a 2x2x4 enclosure..however for caged set ups i allways go with the tried and true 5.0 linear (long bulb) and a standard 60w incandecent bulb from home depot..
