I just ordered a male ambilobe panther chameleon (grier bloodline) that is 3 to 4 months old off of FLchams. I bought a zoo med screen cage (24x24x48). Was wondering what UVB linear bulbs (UVB output, watts, and length specified please for my cage size) I should purchase. Also, the basking light, what wattage should it be? I plan on putting a big schefflera plant inside with vines. Any other ideas on what to place in the cage? I've ordered a mistking system for humidity and to let him drink.

For years I have used the Repti-sun 5.0 UVB long linear tube as a UVB source and a regular incandescent white household bulb as a basking light. The wattage to use is determined by the temperature it makes in the basking area. Be sure the bulbs are outside the cage and that you can hold your hand inside the cage near the basking light so you won't burn the chameleon.
