I just got a veiled chameleon and I wanted to know if I'm supposed to leave the basking light and UVB light on at night?

No, chameleons need absolute darkness to sleep.

Operating the lights 12 hours on and then 12 hours off is pretty common practice. If you want you can also have the lights cycle with the sun.... so as the days get longer you increase the on time for the lights... and as winter comes you can shorten the days... The only issue with this is that most chameleons live near the equator and will experience a 12 day.
