Lighting Question?

I was just wondering what everyone else is doing for their lighting schedules. Such as when you guys turn them on in the morning and what time they go off at night. I am kind of a night owl and do not have a cham yet but have been working on an enclosure. At the moment my lighting schedule is on at 10 am then off at 10 pm, but my enclosure is relatively close to a window that lets a small amount of light through the blinds. Do you guys think this small amount of light would be enough to wake the cham to early or throw him off schedule.

Any info is appreciated.

Thanks
Alex

ive had to adjust my chams schedule to her liking. She awakens with the sun and goes to bed with it as well even if her lights are on/off. I would like to have it setfrom 9 till 9 but she likes it set from about 7 till 7 so thats what it is set at.

and if your cham is anything like mine she will be able to sleep through just about anything so you may need to adjust its schedule to its preferences.

Yes. At one time mine were in a room without windows, and they woke up and roosted with dawn and dusk - I dont know how they know when the sun comes up, but they do.
My lighting schedule rougly reflects what its doing outside, on around dawn, off around sunset, and on a bit longer in summer than in winter.

12 hours on and 12 hours off... if the room lights up from the sun it'll be best if you time the lights with sun rise. The light from outside will wake the cham up even if the enclosure lights are off.

Ok. I will probably just switch it to sunrise and sunset. Does anyone use like a red nightlight to display your cham to friends and family for later hours, not necessarily all night.

I have one that I can switch on just to take a peek at her but I don't leave it on for more than a minute or two. It doesnt seem to bother her when I switch it on cause like I said I don't think anything will awaken her from her sleep lol

Yeah. I just wasnt to sure if those red led nightlights have any effect towards chams. I would most likely have my daytime lights turn off at 7pm then from 7 to about 10pm have a red led on.
