Just need a suggestion on what bulb I should put into the double bulb fixture I'll be using for Chandler's adult cage to aid in plant growth. I'm planning on his adult cage to be 24" deep by 30" wide and 6' tall. I am also currently trying to decide between a T5 HO for the uvb or a T8. I am leaning towards the T5 HO due to the size of his adult cage.

However, I am cautious because of the red LEDs although I can turn them off, in addition to the blue LEDs. I'm also wondering how hard it would be to wire in a timer to control the sequence possibly of LED lights. Any thoughts?

Nvm, cost got me, it's cheaper to get the double bulb 30" fixture from light your reptiles than it is to buy just the zoomed hood. Shipping included.

I see you found out if you get a hood and 6500k bulb, the arcadia comes free

I would recommend a T5HO for a cage over 4ft, and a 6% unless you know what you are doing. my 6% at 28" is still double what a 10.0 T8 does at 12". The only reason to go with a 12% is if you have a very dense leafy cage, or if you want to wrap with screen its first year (reduce output 50%) so you can get 3 years out of the bulb. I just rotate out the 12% out of the beardy cage and into the chameleon condo at about 18 months, by that time its like a fresh 6%.
