Hi i have a veiled chameleon and i bought a used lamp. Now its time to change the light what light will you recomend me the cage is 3 feet tall and the chameleon its 5 inchs long not an adult.thanx:D

You need a basking light (regular household bulb will suffice, around 40-60 watts depending on the distance you'll have it from the basking spot. I use 40watts ), and also a reptisun 5.0 UVB bulb, preferably in the tubular form. You can get them from a pet store usually, but sometimes they will not carry them. If you have problems finding them, you can get one online at:
www.lllreptile.com

Look for the reptisun 5.0 in the size you want it (depending on what setup you have now).

Hope this helps

The problem is that this is the hood

do i have to changed?

take both bulbs out, put in one 40-60 watt household bulb in it, and go buy a uvb tube style light..you can use that thing to hold the basking lamp..

The tube uv is definitely better, coil ones concentrate the uv more and have sometimes caused eye problems. reptisun or reptiglo 5.0 are the best, but need replacing every 6 months or so (even if it looks ok, the quality of light goes down fast after this point).
Also, do you have a male or female? A tube uv would be easier to transfer to a bigger cage if you are planning on getting an 'adult' sized cage in future.......maybe it would be best to change it all now?

I have a baby female here is the picture. My hood have a 5.0 repti glow and a 7% arcadia d3 light. whit the tube one i need a uvb and an uva light?
