thanks

exact thing happened to my cham. he ddint seem affected by it at all. didnt really seem to notice it. as long as no glass shards ended up in the cage and didnt hit her she should be fine.

did the bulb just go out or burst?

If it just went out she will be fine. If it burst you need to clean really well for any glass.

I had one shatter in my beardies cage. I put him in the tub to rinse him off after I took him out I found slivers of glass and glass grit in the tub. I did not see it on him prior to the bath. He is a bit rougher so he has more places for the glass to cling too butI would still be very careful and make sure none on her.

I would shower off the plants and vacuum the bottom.

Since everyone seems to have your question covered, I have two Q's for you...

You mentioned your bulb was a 100watt. How hot is the basking spot?
Is it possible that the fixture you are using is not set up for the kind of bulb/wattage you are using??

I don't know what happened with this poster, but usually when bulbs burst like this it is because moisture from the misting system or spray water or drip water has gotten on or around the bulb...
I've done it myself a couple of times.

My brain skimmed over that part. I blame it on heading soccer balls yesterday.

Or like me, you could have a brand new 10.0 tube (literally only a day old) in the monitor viv, and you hear an annoying cricket that got away in there at night. So you go to grab it, and it's dark so for some reason you are using a torch instead of turning the proper light on. The cricket runs around, you move a branch, it gets stuck on something............what do you do when you are half asleep and you want something to move? Push it harder of course.......snap, you're a dumbass
Anyway, that was an annoying clean up, full of self recriminations :). Those uv tubes really do shatter..........
She'll be totally fine if nothing hit her and you tidy the glass properly.
