I am not saying intentionally stress out your chameleon, BUT a common question i have seen on the forum is "are these colors (usually dark) stress colors or what do they mean?" So lets provide colors of chameleons that are showing different colors and what they mean in the description! This should help a lot of people relax or at least understand what is going on with their cham, especially panthers, but all are always welcome!

This thread could really help people and not one of you have replied, I will a soon as my cham is done shedding

I have a female veiled that hates my guts i just had to take her off her free range and then i logged on she does stress when i have to put her home she will his a little bit and even sometimes a bit snappy but still shows me bright yellow and blue dots not dark coloration unless SUPER irritated. maybe tomorrow ill snap a picture and post it here.

Some colors for sharing. I'm no expert so don't believe the things I say without question.

I have a Male Veiled Chameleon and here are some of his colors:
Stressed baby male chameleon, normally flat green.

Extreme anger/stress, fighting with reflection.

Older chameleon. The dots usually come out when he's angry, in this picture he's a little mad. Not sure what he's mad about.

A color displayed when Carlos is stressed or cold.

Normal, happy coloration.

Hopefully not too many pictures.

This is lizzy and when she is mad or scared she gets the black on her in this case she was scared of the silk worm I brought home for her to eat. But when she's mad her lines go dark brown/black

Our little Loki. He's such a little booger.

I'd post one of Zeke and Cami too but I don't have any of them stressed on my laptop right now. That and they're generally pretty calm overall. :D

This is Monty, my Jackson's showing his 'I hate cats' colours!

This is perfect! So much better than my photos. With my Jax I have noticed two phases: bright blue head means you are starting to tick me off but the stripes and spots mean business!

This photo shows the "stop looking at me while I'm sleeping" colors.

My girl doesn't really stress very often...could there be something wrong or is she just really content? I've only seen a drastic change in her a few times but I have also only owned this particular chameleon for about a month. she is about 7-9 months no ones exactly sure and she is a veiled.
Thanks
Melanie
I attached a picture of her right now, as normal and green as can be...

LOL oh my goodness I LOVE him!! he's so cute!

Thanks! The only time i see these colours is when he has seen the cat. I know she is there before I see her just by his colours! He is the sweetest boy, I love him to bits! He was just 7 weeks old and weighed 2g when I brought him home
