Less than a week!!!!

I'm aiming for chameleon ownership in less than a week! :D I've had the cage set up for a few weeks now making sure the temps and the mister are where they need to be for a baby. I just want to post it on here to get your opinion so anything that needs go be changed can be! I'm so excited :D And don't worry this isn't a spur of the moment thing I've wanted one for over 10 years now doing all sorts of research. It's a reptibreeze 18x18x36 keeping the ambient temp at 74 and the basking spot at 83. UVB is set and a main live umbrella plant with some pothos soon to come. Thank you in advanced! I love how helpful everyone is with new owners :)

lookin' good! How'd you do the draining with the reptibreeze? I'm setting up the same one now and trying to decide what's best for draining.

Very nice setup. What kind of chameleon are you planning on getting?

One quick note, I would check the temperature right below your basking light as it looks like it is sitting on the screen. If your little one was to climb up top and hang upside down under it ,he/she could get burned if it is too hot.

Thanks! I went ahead and had my fiance drill some holes in the bottom pvc piece. Then I put the plant on a little stand so the water can get underneath :) I hope at the expo that I'm going to there will be some baby panthers! There was at the show I went to earlier in the year so fingers cross. The angle of the picture does look like the light is sitting on the screen but its actually about 4'' away on little feet that came with it for the very reason you said :)

Oh ok awesome. Looks like you have everything covered! Hope you find a little panther you love at the expo, be sure to post pictures!

Congrats on your baby to be. Do you have all the correct supplements and everything else ready? What size panther do you want? A baby would need to be watched in that cage to make sure it finds it's food. We will be waiting for pictures.:)

You are in Washington, is the DC or State? I am in Renton and going to the Expo in Puyallup this weekend.

I did a similar thing with the base of my small Reptibreeze except I cut out and 8" round and set my plant inside it and have it draining into a 5" Lowes bucket in a cabinet below. The additional water from dripping and misting drains around the plant pot as the weight of it pulls it down a bit in the middle.

Good luck, let me know if you are nearby. Its nice to know other Cham Addicts locally.

Also where did you get that cabinet?
Nancy

I do I do! I have the Repti Calcium without D3 to do daily, the one with D3 to do twice a month, and the Multivitamin to do twice a month as well. I'll get the fresh veggies and crickets ready on Friday the day before so they can be gutloaded with goodness! I'm hoping more for a 5-6 month old male but it really depends on what the breeders are bringing to the show.

As in, the square bottom that comes with the cage? How are you getting all the water to flow to the holes? Thanks!

Yep the square bottom! What looks like a cabinet that the whole cage is sitting on is actually a vanity! So under there is a sink and a gap so not on a flat surface. From there the potted plant seems to push it down in the center enough that water goes under it no problem but I did buy a heavier pot for that purpose. I'm not sure what you'd do if it was completely flat

Good ol' Washington State! :D That's the one I'm going to as well! The cabinet is actually a vanity with a sink! A wonderful find at Home Depot for only $49! http://www.homedepot.com/p/Glacier-...E24P2-FD/100527212?N=25ecodZbzal#.UlTo11CsiSo

I was thinking of doing the larger hole like you did. We'll have to compare notes after a while hehe
