Left eye closing

Pedro is in his basking spot and kind laying on his favorite perch.
But one of his eyes will close while the other remains open.
Idk if its kinda like what us humans do when we lay in the sun just close our eyes and enjoy (but chams obviously would keep one open) or if hes got some kinda infection.

They eye doesnt appear to be swollen and he moves it around when open.

i dont have any subtrates on the bottom of the cage and the crickets just chill on the screen so i dont think they attack him.

Eyes closed on a chameleon is a big concern that can have anything to do with lighting, supplements, respitatory infection, etc. It's best to fill out the "how to ask for help" form so we can see where the problem may be.

Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Pedro is a male veiled cham.
Handling - twice since i got him. Once to check him and once to put him into his new cage.
Feeding - I feed him crickets and superworms. He eats like 5 or 6 crixs a day and 2 super worms. I put two crix at a time in and he hunts them and I hand feed the worms cuz they got attuides and pincers lol. I gut load the feeders with the dry high cal stuff and kale oranges and lettuce.
Supplements - Havent got any yet but gonna get pure cal. cal w/ d3 and w/o phos. and vitamin A.
Watering - I use a dripper. I mist every day twice a day for about 1 to 3 mins. Ive only seen Pedro drink once.
Fecal Description - Ive never seens pedros poop!
History - When I bought him at a pets mart the lady was trying to tell me he drinks standing water!! And he only eats 3 crixs a day!!He was skinny and still is a little skinny in my opinion.

Cage Info:
Cage Type - He has a all screen reptibreeze cage i believe its a 1.5x2x2.5? He has plenty of branches (real and fake) and the bottom has nothing but newspaper.
Lighting - I have a 100watt spot light in a clamp light fixture for basking and thats on for about 12 hours a day and its around 85-90F basking and 80-75F ambient. and a liner tube uvb light 5.0 18" by repti glo which is on for about 12 hours a day as well. When I turn off the basking and uvb light I turn a 75watt infra red light on so he can sleep which hits around 80F basking and 70F ammbient.
Humidity - Humidity is about 50-70 and I use a petco one...which I know I should go get a digital after reading around.
Plants - I have one live pothos plant c:
Placement - Its next to a window but I keep the blinds closed cuz I heard seeing outside causes stress because predetors could be in a tree or just other things. Also Its next to my computer but I wouldnt consider it a high traffic area because not alot of people come around this area and he doesnt seem to mind me.
Location - Im located in washington state.

Current Problem - Hes closing and opening his left eye. I doesnt seem to be swollen or crusty or have anything coming out of it but I did purchase a coiled uvb bulb and used it on him for 2 days but then yesterday I changed to a liner uvb light.
He was climb the screen top where the coiled bulb was...and i got worried because of the bad reputation that kinda bulb has so I changed it yesterday...is two days enough time to cause eye damage?

You said..."Havent got any yet but gonna get pure cal. cal w/ d3 and w/o phos. and vitamin A"...why vitamin A but not a complete vitamin powder?

Is it cold or is there a chill coming from being close to the window?

No the heater is next t him and I set it for low 60s at night so he should be fine.
Also, Im totally new to cham keeping so I was reading around about supplements and alot of people seem to have been doing that and alot of people agreed with it and I cant remeber but alot of multi vitamin powders have phos. in them and that upsets the balance and 'yadda yadda' and also I read that you need to use a certain form of vitamin A so it wont build up but I didnt read that multi vitamins were necessarly really bad so maybe I could do that instead...

Vitamin powders should have all the vitamins normally needed but they don't usually have phos. in them. The thing to be concerned about with vitamin powders is the vitamin A...whether they have prEformed vitamin A in them or beta carotene. PrEformed vitamin A can build up in the systyem, but there is controversy as to whether any/all chameleons can convert the (prOformed) beta carotene or not so some people give them a little bit of prEformed vitamin A once in a while.

D3 from supplements is also fat soluble like the prEformed vitamin A so it needs to be given carefully as well.

You said..."When I turn off the basking and uvb light I turn a 75watt infra red light on so he can sleep which hits around 80F basking and 70F ammbient"...you don't need heat at night unless the temps drop below 65F...and it might be that chameleons can see infra red. If you need heat at night I would recommend that you use a heat emitting ceramic "bulb"....it doesn't give off light at all.

You said..."I did purchase a coiled uvb bulb and used it on him for 2 days"....glad you replaced it. What did you replace it with? If the eye clears up in a few days then you will know it was the light, if it doesn't you should take it to the vet IMHO.

Yea I returned the infrared bulb a couple days ago and he seems just fine and I replaced the coil uvb with a liner uvb bulb.
Its repti glo 5.0.
Repti sun was out of stock but I read in this forum some where a lady has been using reptiglo for a while and her chams are great.
So Im sure its fine for now.
I think it was the coil bulb with his eye cuz it seemed to clear up.
He was climbing his cage directly under the coil and looking into it. As soon as I noticed this i was like "wheres the reciept for that damn thing?" and went and got the liner bulb.
Hasnt been showing any more of that behavior now.

P&A...it's just the one eye, right?

Maybe there's just something in the eye he's keeping closed. Have you tried flushing the eye out with saline solution? Or, maybe just misting for a really long time?

I'm not trying to discount what the others are saying, but just offering up another idea.

Well he was doing it two days ago when I had a coiled uvb and then yesterday with the new liner and now he hasnt been doing it.
Im sure it was that bulb.
Thank god I read up on them on here and decided to get a liner one!
Who knows what coulda happened to poor pedro :c
