I have a female veiled who has been digging all day and is still digging but her timer went off shutting off all her lights. Does she need a light on all night to keep digging and laying or is she OK in the dark??

OK thanks just wasnt sure new time owner and it's her first time laying
It's okay to be overly concerned better than not caring. But if you think about it does someone leave the light on for them in the wild? Just make things as close as they have it in the wild, and you will be fine.

Of couse she is ok....she is not making a movie in that bin,why does she need lights???give the female some space,n let her lay in her own privacy.
Do you know how long it takes for veiled Cham to lays eggs we are new to this. We had X-rays taken of her and found out she had about 12 or so eggs on 2/23 so We got a laying bin ready but she hasn't begun digging and I worry how long is too long. Thx for any info to help me with her.

Out cham is about 9 months and she laid 50 eggs!! So I would say she may not be ready to lay yet! This was out first time of her laying and we had no clue she had eggs she was just acting very strange.. She was not eating at all and pacing up and down her cage and walkjng around the bottom a lot!! We gave her a laying bin and about 10ins after I put it in she was digging and investigating it... By the next morning she had laid and cover all her eggs

Once she stop eating and nonstop roaming up n down, that will be the sign before she lays,I will say within a week or two u will start seeing the sign soon, keep up the calcium supplements so she can utilizing and be beneficial on her egg shells:)

We have been so worried about her the vet gave her a dose of oxytocin but nothing. We have liquid calcium and a food supplement we are giving her from the vet to make sure she has proper nutrition since she won't eat anything she normally ate. She is drinking water and acts normal in every other way. She's a friendly little girl. I appreciate you responding. We also were researching utube videos for help but everyone experiences differentIy and some say if you miss the window she can die being egg bound. We can't see eggs bulging on her yet. I just know from the X-ray she has some. Thanks again for all your helpful knowledge.

Pleasure will be all mine, please do make sure ur laying bin has around 12 inches playsand n enough to dig a hole without cave in collapsing also put a branch into the bin so she can access her way in,and if she still eating let her eat but dont handle her at all,let the nature take its course,im sure she will lay in time, good luck to ur chamy:)

I wish she would eat but isn't. That's why we are giving her liquid calcium and a powdered food in a syringe on a daily basis. I thank you again and I'll post when she lays any eggs. I hope it isn't much longer. We do check the sand and keep it moistened and it tunnels great . She has explored it but not for very long yet. Thx again
