Land snail temp

Well, I finally got around to cleaning my snail terrarium, it was pretty funky.
Noticed, for the first time, several baby snails, and found a nice cluster of eggs.
Removed everything and cleaned and replaced the soil with fresh.
Then I put everything back.
I have been keeping them on the cool side, mid to high 60's F.

What temp do you guyz keep them?

Also, I talked to the owner of snailsinthemail.com about parasites and separating the babies and eggs. I told him I was using them as feeders for chams.
He insists that there is no need to do this because his snails come from a organic snail farm in California, they are captive raised in a clean invironment and given organicly grown foods.

The little snails like to ride around on the backs of the adults, kind of cool to watch them.
They seem to like the fresh soil and are more active then normal.

I keep mine at room temp also. The room is usually in the low 70's. However I can tell you that in the summer when the room is warmer they did breed much more. And they do love clean soil they will for sure act happier.

Okay, I'll leave my temps the same.

I made a vow to myself to keep these guyz better maintained and fed.
I'm thrilled to see all these babies, and eggs :)

I was beginning to think it was hopeless

I have 3 adults, and looks like only one of them layed eggs because there was
only one egg cluster. But several dozen eggs were in it.

Maybe one of them had eggs and they hatched, hence, all the little ones slithering about!?
I hadn't really been paying any attention to them, just misting and throwing some food in whenever I think about it.

The babies were climbing the walls, I saw them before, but thought it was poop!!

How often do they lay their eggs?
How many batches of eggs do you get from a single adult?

A baby snail.

How big should they be before you feed them to your chams?

I wait until they are no bigger than a dime. My jax handles them just fine at that size. He gets too excited though and always knocks them off the branch with his horns the first try :D
