Kinyongia tavetana (Kilimanjaro Two-horned Chameleons)

Have a clutch of Kinyongia tavetana (Kilimanjaro Two-horned Chameleons) that have started to hatch today. They incubated for a total of 316 days. The first 10 months were in an incubator at ~66ºF (19ºC) and the last month has been on a shelf with daytime temps as high as 78ºF (25.5ºC) and night lows as low as 55ºF (12.5ºC). One of the original 11 eggs molded over and collapsed within the first month or so. The first of the remaining 10 eggs has now pipped and the other 9 look great. Here is a pics of the baby coming out of the first egg:

Well, the first baby is out of the egg and none of the other eggs are sweating or anything yet so we'll see when they end up hatching.

Yeah, I'll probably contact people who have contacted me with an interest in setting up a breeding group first and then put any left up on the classifieds here.

Pairing up that female is one of my first priorities with the babies. I'll definitely put a male aside for her.

I don't know much about point and shoots, but if you're looking for a digital SLR, hands down I recommend one of the Canon EOS Digital Rebels. The camera I use is the original Digital Rebel (6.4 megapixels). I think the cheapest model of Rebel they make now is the Rebel T3 (12.2 megapixels), which for the body alone runs about $375 or about $500 with a basic kit lens. What costs money, however, is the lenses. The vast majority of my photos are with my Canon 100mm Macro Lens and Canon MT-24EX Macro Twin Lite flash. A Canon 100mm Macro lens will cost you another $550 and the Macro Twin Lite another $800.

Just as an update, of the 10 good eggs in this clutch, 9 have now hatched. One of these babies hatched with a birth defect and lacks any eyes. I've posted photos in another thread (https://www.chameleonforums.com/birth-defects-graphic-images-70495/). The remaining 8 babies all look very good and the last egg looks good too. Here are a couple photos I took last night:

Yeah, unfortunately my move to Florida will not permit me to bring my animals down. Once I find my own place that allows them it will be back on

Nope, don't mist them. Just leave them in the container which should be fairly humid. The water droplets you are seeing on the egg are from the egg sweating prior to hatching.

Starting off at New Smyrna Beach with a friend who is teaching down there. Should have my own place in a few weeks but Im looking to scope FL out and see where my type of place would be and of course near the best job I can find. Im not much for the beach. You will probably find me in the trailor park out in the boonies eventually. I am from WV you know
