Khan's FIRST time ...

So today I took Khan out of his cage for the first time and BOY HE DID NTO LIKE IT... to begin with. I really believe he hates me! I had my hand near him (hisses) then my girlfriends hand, no hiss. Tried this several times and he only hisses at me!!! What a punk!. However, towards the end he started to think about warming up to me

As you can see I had to take him out of his domain with STICKS! This took about ten minutes too, just to get him out. Another ten minutes out of the cage and then 5 to get him back in. Crazy chameleon I have here. Perhaps one day he will love me?!

See if you can bribe him/give him something good to come out for. I've had some success (varies by chameleon) with reaching out one hand towards the cham, and holding a bug near my elbow, so the cham has to climb aboard to get its treat. One guy quickly reached the point where he'd climb on me immediately whether there was any treat in evidence or not; another is a bit more cautious but still can't resist a bribe...

Thats a really good idea, I will have to try that sometime soon. Yet I think the sight of my hand he hates lol. If I reach my hand in there for him to grab up he lunges at me, so I cant really get that close.

ANd Khan is beautiful btw! Even if he is a little cranky!

It really is almost just like training a dog, except you can really only use positive reinforcement, If he hates your hand maybe you could try hand feeding just to let him know your hand is a good thing then maybe try the bribe on the arm thing it's all about baby steps

Feisty ones always turn out to be studs! It took my ambilobe about 2 months before he stopped hissing and became comfortable with me to hold him whenever i want. Good luck!

I am happy he is starting to show some color! Today, the 2nd picture is the most colorful I have ever seen him.

How old is he? Sometimes they become mean when they are around 4-6 months. From my experience anyway. LOL

I am glad my little guy doesn't hiss or bite me! He's the perfect Chameleon lol. Good Luck!

Actually he is a Ambilobe/tamative cross from Kammers. He is also, I think about 4months old, March 11th is his birthday, or May11th I cant remember. Lol.What do you think?

He does have great color! Do you hand feed ever! I have noticed that my cham has gotten used to me due to hand feeding worms especially the ones he loves! Now he really could care less about my hands in the cage.

I will try to hand feed him some bigger worms. I have small mealworms and butterworms and silk worms, but I will try for bigger worms Maybe he is having an issue seeing the smaller worms in my hand

Try some superworms! My cham goes NUTS for them!

Yea! I really like his pattern too, I am hoping some yellows/reds will come out like his pops! Im running by petco today to get some bigger worms, perhaps the days of hating my soul will end! Lol
I plan on doing a growth timeline of photos in a little while, just to show his development.

SOOOO HE HATES ME! Lol, even with medium sized mealworms... he puffs up and doesn't show any interest in the worm, just biting me Perhaps one day he will warm up, but not today lol.
