Keeping WC Chameleons??

I was curious about WC Chameleons compared to ones that are bred in capacity. Is there any difference in between caring for WC one and a captive bred one?

I see many members here with WC ones and no doubt you love them but sometimes I kinda feel bad for them in way, I mean they are taken from their wild environment, probably never seen or handled by a human and shoved in a cage :(

Obviously captive bred ones will know no difference as they brought up in captivity.

So was just curious are they harder to keep, are they more stubborn than CB Chameleons?

Sometimes when you get a WC chameleon they have parasites. Im pretty sure they're also prone to more stress. The plus to having one is they're cheaper. I personally try to avoid getting any WC chams at all costs. I think its also kind of cruel. I prefer CB, even if they're a little more.

Wild caught are a gamble. Like someone said; parasites, stress- but nonetheless they are sometimes necassary to augment breeding projects with some fresh genes. Wild caught chameleons are best left to experienced keepers who know the species and know what to look for as far as problems.

Yes WC chameleons are harder to take care of they have parisites most of the time when you get them. they are mad at the world because they are not in maddi:( and some are very picky about food and how you house them. I have 4 and I Payed the same as a CB so they are not always cheaper.

Wild chameleons were shone to have more stress than captives. I do agree but wild chams learn to trust people. Also it's more likely the have parasites but they also have a lower chance of getting MBD cuz in the wild they get the exact amount of sun they need. But with the parasites theirs always a chance you could have bad luck.

They are harder to take care, specially when they just arrive. The mortality rate is higher on fresh imports and for a new keeper its practically impossible to properly acclimate them. Having captive bred chameleons lessens the stress on the chameleons natural environment, even though people are still buying wild caughts. Its the basic law of supply and demand, the less wild ones are demanded, the less are supplied. If given the opportunity to purchase either a wild caught or a captive bred, i'd choose a CB any day.

Would you mind explaining how you determined that wild chameleins learn to trust people? Also, what evidence do you have of your second claim? Any chameleon in captivity, wild or not, can get MBD if its needs are not met.
