Keeping sand clean?

Hey all. I have a few questions about my play sand.

So, my lady veil has been rooting around a lot lately, and I decided I needed to return her sand bin to her cage. However, I realized that I put it away wet after her last lay, and now it smells really musty and moldy.

Is it harmful to her in its current condition?

Is there some way to clean it?

Am I better off buying new sand?

I mostly want to avoid slaving over a boiling pot of sand water for the rest of the weekend. Thoughts?

I'd just buy new sand. It's easier than trying to wash it all. And I'm sure it won't be very good for hear to be digging in.
