Keeping chameleons outside

I'm in Richmond va and yesterday I left my Chamelon outside in his cage for the first time . He was fine he seemed to love it . I bin keeping him outside more and more lately . Do you know when is a good time to prob bring him inside? Also it's about to storm tonight and I got home from work and its already dark should I put him inside or should I let him just brave the storm. The cage has a somewhat decent roof...... Kinda
By the way I have a Jackson's Chamelon .

Bring him inside to be safe of its going to storm. No sense risking it. That's my thought.

But like risking what him being awake will he sleep through the rain ? This is is second night outside he's asleep in a branch right in the open,
