That blog will help a lot. There are lots of answers on there. Keep asking questions but search for your own answers as well. It is great that you want everything to be perfect!

You can start with this as well and you will get lots of input.

Who cares. You came on here to ask for help instead of venturing off taking the risk of knowing nothing and jacking it all up. Props.
Read the website Ryan offered up. Use the search thread at the top of the forum to find out any Q's you have. Yes, panthers and veileds eat the same thing, just depends on how old and what they prefer.

No, if you are getting a Panther, then do not follow the lighting and misting, temperature and humidity details on the Raising Kitty site. That is for veileds. But there will be good info there on enclosure set up and feeding and supplements. And health issues.

For a Panther cham, you DO NOT want substrate. So get rid of the substrate. The sticks and twigs are good, as long as they have been sanitized. Fake plants are OK for now, but a ficus tree or Schefflera from a home improvement store would be better.

I can help you with your lighting arrangement but I need to know if your enclosure is going to be all glass with screen top, or partial glass, with some screen sides. I don't know how to set up an all glass tank. I do realize they are commonly used in Canada and overseas.

ANother very critical aspect is- where do you live? This does impact your setup. You may have already said where you live, but I did not have time to read all of your individual posts.

ok so basicly panthers about 10 degrees cooler?

Yes, Panthers are basically kept 10 degrees cooler than veileds, and higher humidity. They also generally eat a bit less, and, in my experience, have slightly slower metabolisms than veileds. So you could set up an enclosure just like you see on the raising kitty site, but raise the heat lamp higher away from the top of the enclosure and measure your temps carefully. If you are doing an all glass cage then PLEASE ask the knowledgeable folks on this forum who reside outside the U.S. to help you with that so you do not cook your cham. If I were you, and I were doing an all glass enclosure, with screen top of course, then I would post a separate thread- titled "how do I set up a good glass enclosure?". There will be some people who will tell you that the enclosure MUST be all screen, but that is not correct.

They eat the same bugs. Panthers, however, don't normally eat the vegetation the way a veiled will. I have a veiled, Wolfgang, who pretty much stripped the leaves off a good sized pothos.

Our Panthers are much more sedentary than our veileds. But panthers generally get broader and heavier. So the cage furnishings need to be a bit sturdier, and the sticks a bit wider for panthers.

And its good that you have asked for help BEFORE getting one. This is the place to be, just make sure you take the advice given to ensure the best quality of life for your cham. When are you getting it?

Are you doing glass enclosure? That is common in England. This is great that you're doing research and asking specific questions. I am looking forward to seeing pics of your enclosure and seeing your new cham. In August?

yeh ile try and get him for august for my birthday if possible, and put some pics up. Is the glass cage ok? or bad... i can not really afford to buy a new one... its got two glass slidy doors and the rest is wood.
