I know not a turtle website but I have a chameleon as well but I found this turtle on the side of the road and was wondering what kind it was. I figured it may be a box turtle but just want to make sure.

That honestly doesn't look very much like a box turtle, except for the shape of the shell. The patterns aren't even close to a box turtle and the face looks different.

Maybe it is just an older box turtle with faded patterns and a worn shell?

Closer pictures would really help.

Also my advice is not to post a turtle on a cham forum, maybe a different reptile forum would be able to help you out.

not a box turtle, looks like a tortoise of some kind .. might check out a list of the local tortoise species and see if hes a native
