Just wondering what the biggest horned chameleon species is?

Hm... parsons or mellers.. or then again, are their rostals not considered horns?

Probably deremensis. They aren't offered often, and are incredibly sensitive to humidity and temp fluctuations I have heard.

A horn is different from a rostral projection... I would say melleri out of the species i know of though.

Really, if you want a mellers... Do your research and have everything set up perfect quite a bit before you get one (it'll take time to even find one) and you'll be fine. Especially if you stick around here and talk to some of the experienced mellers keepers

It isn’t completely false though. Actually the melleri were known as the ‘90 Day Chameleon’ back in the day. Fortunately we have learned a lot about captive husbandry of this large species since then. With the closure of Tanzania for exports (I believe the largest exporting country of melleri) we aren’t seeing as many problems with Meller's but when and if they open, many thousands will be exported and few of those will make it into good hands and thrive in captivity.

They are sometimes exported out of Mozambique but I haven't seen any export numbers from that country since the 2010 season. I may not have the latest data though so don't quote me on that.
I can't find any Mellers listed on Kingsnake. The ones on the LLL ad aren't listed on their website so I would assume they don't have any.

I'm from the UK Trace so will have to keep my ear to the ground for breeders, I personally wouldn't want a wild caught. I dont like the idea of people taking them out of there home

Edit: i just checked their site it says theyre "captive bred"... Its possible, even more so since tanzania is closed. But Ive never heard of backwater reptiles so idk if i could trust that

This is another issue, CB are very hard to come by its seems. I dont think there is much information known about breeding them. If there is any info out there, I would really like to see it. Also they can be hard to sex.

Oh! I missed that one. I don't know. I did a quick browse through their site and I noticed that a lot of their photos are not their own so are they brokering animals for other people? Another quick look at the BOI brings up a few threads so use your discretion.
