Your Chameleon - Male veiled about 5 months - In my care since about 6 weeks old.
Handling - Has only been handled 2 or 3 times, but has often been taken out on a stick to free range on a pothos in the kitchen.
Feeding - Varied diet - Mostly crickets, but also hornworms and mealworms. Gut loading with vegies and Flukers products.
Supplements - Calcium w/D3 once a month; Herpavite once a month; Calcium w/out D3 at most feedings.
Watering - Automated system that is more like rain than mist 4 times daily & hand misting. I have never seen him drink, but urates are white.
Fecal Description - Droppings are dark brown/black and solid. Urates are white.
Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites? No
History - No past issues
Cage Info:
Cage Type - 2 x 2 x 4 screen with plexiglass on 2 sides to help hold in moisture
Lighting - Linear 5.0 repti-glo & basking light - Both 12 hours on 12 hours off
Temperature - Low 80's at top, mid 70's at bottom. Measuring with digial device
Humidity - Automated system that is more like rain than mist 4 times daily & hand misting. Humidity around 40%.
Plants - Live pothos & ficus
Placement - Cage is in office, which is a very low traffic area. Cage is sitting on top of a table, so the top is pretty close to the ceiling.
Location - Northeast Illinois
Current Problem - He was living in a medium Exo-terra and was moved about a week ago to the new cage. Since he has been in the new cage, his color is constantly dark. Can anyone tell me if he is just reacting to being in a new territory and will be ok or is there something I'm missing?
