free is always a good price. nothing wrong with putting something you didnt pay for to good use.

I have used one and they are perfect for small cages. I got mine for free as well. Once I moved them to there big cages I of course went with the mistking.

it works hehe, but it doesn't mist. the nozzle is adjustable so play with it until you can get it to atleast shoot a spray or whatever. i found the cap for the water tank on it, i'll give it to you later.

no prob! it actually did used to mist/spray at first, then stopped working correctly. So basically its a timed dripping system, which beats using a dripper in two ways...1) you just fill it up in the morning and it lasts all day even when u aren't there 2) don't really have to worry about collecting the dripped water depending on the setup.

I am still trying to figure out how I can use a dripper without having to collect a freakin gallon of water from it by the time i come home.

I just put a plastic container at the bottom to catch the water. I'll see how I can set it up tomorrow since Hughs cage is so small. :)

i took my habaspit back to the pet shop after A week. I used A cup with ice cubes for over 2yrs I know you will hear bad stuff about useing ice cubes.but they worked good w/ daily misting, as long as your doing some sort of showering A couple times A week. I got my mistking installed last week;);) my panthers love it. Steps my 6 yr old veiled seems to miss his ice cube drips. But he is adapting. 4 dogs,1 kitten,2 turtles,1 bearded dragon 1 bunny,2 panrhers w 4 clutches of eggs and 2 veileds with 2 clutches of eggs. The inn is full.

I'm planning to get the Ultimate Value Mist King when I do my big boy cages because it comes with hardware to do at least 3 cages. About to buy two 2x2x4 LLL cages on black Friday for $75 each which I think is a steal! Then I get a week off in December and I plan to do some rearranging of my living space so I can accommodate the cages, the mist king, and the drainage system that I need to construct which I'm at a total loss at how I'm gonna do it! Damn you lizards dominating my time, money and life!

everyone hates on it, but it gets the job done! until mine dies and doesn't pump water i'll say they aren't that bad

Hey Mike, I recently set up my first Mist King. If you are going with the three free nozzles they include and plan on using them with more than one cage, I would probably suggest purchasing extra nozzles. For sure some people only use one nozzle per cage, but I think it really depends on your setup! I have two ficus trees in my 24x24x48, so there are plenty of leaves at the top of the cage that one nozzle can not cover. For this reason, I installed more than one nozzle so I could cover most of the leaves at the top.

Setup is ridiculously easy. Also, don't use scissors to cut the tubing. The kit comes with a special tube-cutter. I think the reason mine are dripping where the tubes meet the nozzle is because I used scissors. I'm not sure about this, but I would just play it safe and cut the tubing as clean as possible. By the way, the mist particles from the Mist King are so fine that you can instantly watch the humidity go up with a meter, which I never noticed with a spray bottle! To play it safe, just order two nozzles for every cage if you have doubts about how many you will need. The machine is worth every penny!

Good luck!!

P.S. did you know LLL sells special drainage systems specifically for the 24x24x48 cages? Or are you making them yourself to save money?

Cheers again

Well, it definitely works as a timed dripping/spray system. However, it can not produce an actual mist which instantly helps raise humidity. I noticed with the Mist King that as soon as it starts to work, it instantly boosts the humidity. Even on the finest setting on a good spray bottle, I was not able to achieve this.

For Gabbie: definitely use the spray bottle even though you have the habba mist now.

I figure drilling a 1 inch hole at the bottom of the cage and then covering it up with screen would suffice. The weight of the plant should cause a concave (or is it convex?) shape which should lead the water down the hole and into my water catching apparatus (a rubbermaid tub). At least that's what another forum member described and it sound super simple.

I can't really tell what the LLL pans actually look like or do so I passed on them. My two cages come in today yay!

That is my drainage set up to the "T" It is simple and it works. Which is good because I sat thinking a long time about constructing some cool drainage type systems but the drilled holes and tub work wonders.

That sounds like a good idea. I need to figure something out QUICK! Right now I have a towel sitting in front of Hughs cage catching any excess water and then have a little plastic container inside catching the dripper water. I'll figure it out once I get my larger cage, which is coming in today, another Yaaaaaay!:p
