ivew just got my new veiled chameleon and i need to know what do at night do i levae the heat bulb on and turn the uvb light of im really confused?????

Turn everything off unless your house is getting under 55-60* F. How old is your new little one? Chams tolerate and actually do well with a night-time temp drop, so you don't need any lights at night. However, if it is getting very cold, get a heat emmitter, not a bulb that produces light. Chams can see red light, so those red bulbs won't let them sleep. They look something like this: http://www.google.com/products/cata...og_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CEUQ8wIwAA# and prodice no light.

Congrats on your new addition! :D

thanks for that ive just turned it all of and hes about 6-7 months forgot but going back in a few days to get some stuff so i will ask then :) and im using a 10.0 uvb exo terra and a 100watt bulb with a blue light :)

hey can post a picture of your setup...if u dont mind...

What size cage is he in? A 5.0 reptisun/reptiglo is usually prefered over a 10.0 for UV, it's better for panther chams. An what are you getting as the hottest temp under the 100w bulb? Be careful that it's not over 85-90* F. Is it a bulb that shines blue? I would replace that for a normal household bulb, chameleons can see color so it's probably really unnatural for him to see blue all the time.

Sorry that it sounds like I'm tearing apart your husbandry! I just want your cham healthy and happy :)

its like a normal 100 wat bulb witha vlue paint to make it come through blue, and its 3 feet in every dimension and hes asleep now so no picture right now, and its a yemen not a panther
